So I've been wanting to try baking donuts for a while now, and as soon as I got back from my trip I ordered some silicone molds online. The first time I tried to bake coffee donuts, but the recipe wasn't good and they turned out to be a bit of a fail. This time I was determined to make some good donuts. I bought blackberries at the farmer's market, and Anthony and I got down to baking! The first time around we made several colossal mistakes. I accidentally doubled the butter amount, put almond extract instead of vanilla, and to top it all off we put 1 TBSP of milk instead of 1 CUP!! As expected, it was a disaster. However, we decided to persevere and try again, paying more attention to what we were doing.. ha! Third time is the charm I guess, because this time the donuts turned out fabulously! We followed this recipe from a blog I follow called "Last Ingredient." The donuts were amazingly pretty with the natural color from the fresh blackberries, and tasted divine. Anthony brought some into work today and got rave reviews! So happy I pushed through the failures. Will definitely be baking more donuts in the near future! Happy baking :)
