Saw this in the New York Times and was immediately intrigued. I was a little bit cautious because I'd never made pizza by myself before. The last time I could recall was age 7 or 8, helping my mom spread the tomato sauce and cheese on a circle of dough. This recipe is far from the classic pizza I made when I was young. It is very different, and very satisfying. The original recipe is vegan, but I added goat cheese because... umm, can you tell I love cheese by now?
The white bean sauce was quite savory. Paired with the sweet softness of the squash and crisp edge from the apples, well, I was in heaven. The tang of the added goat cheese sent me over the edge. Truly awesome!
